The Premier League's last-place team is reportedly considering the goalkeeper because they are at risk of losing their current number one, José Sá, to Nottingham Forest. Scherpen is currently under contract with Union Saint-Gilloise, where he has been performing strongly in the Belgian league and the Champions League this season.
