Journalist Richard Cawley confirmed Charlton Athletic's interest in signing Karlan Grant, with manager Nathan Jones also acknowledging the pursuit in a recent press conference. The 28-year-old centre-forward, who holds English and Scottish citizenship, is currently a free agent, having been released by West Brom this summer at the end of his contract. The forward had joined the Baggies in 2020 for a rumored £15m fee on a six-year deal. A move would be a return to Charlton for Grant, who is a product of Charlton's academy and made 98 appearances for the senior team, scoring 21 goals, before moving to Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee. Grant has one cap for the England U19 team and his current market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €1.80m.
