Mundo Deportivo has reported that Alavés is keen on acquiring Juan Berrocal to replace Abdel Abqar. The 26-year-old Berrocal, who is currently with Getafe, is not a central figure in the plans of his coach, José Bordalás, having only appeared in 21 matches last season. Berrocal is open to a move, and his coach has given the green light for his departure. The expected transfer fee is around 1.5 million euros. Besides Alavés, Girona and Metz are also expressing interest in Berrocal, with Metz allegedly trying to secure his transfer for a similar amount. Although Berrocal's contract with Getafe runs until June 2027, he is exploring his options due to limited playing opportunities. Alavés is particularly eager to sign Berrocal, seeing him as an ideal candidate to replace the outgoing Moroccan defender, Abdel Abqar.
