Sabah FK striker Joy-Lance Mickels, a 32-year-old with German and Rwandan citizenship, is seeking a winter transfer to the Bundesliga. The German-born player reportedly has a verbal agreement with his club to leave for a fee between €400,000 and €500,000 if a suitable offer arrives, and he is said to have received several inquiries. Mickels expressed his desire to play in what he considers one of the world's most attractive leagues, stating that his preferred destination would be his youth club, Borussia Mönchengladbach. He described a potential move to Borussia as the best possible outcome and affirmed that he would not reject an offer from them, adding that he will always be a 'Borusse'. Mickels, who has been capped four times for Rwanda, joined the club in July 2024 and is under contract until June 2027. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €800,000.
