According to Bild, there is potential interest in Linus Gechter from various clubs. In past transfer periods, national clubs, which included Gladbach, were interested in Linus Gechter. At that time, Hertha coach Stefan Leitl declared Gechter not for sale. Gechter's contract is set to expire in the summer, which will make him available on a free transfer. It is uncertain if Hertha BSC can extend his contract, especially without a salary increase. A promotion to the Bundesliga could provide more money to Hertha BSC, which could possibly impact the likelihood of a contract extension.

According to Sky, Borussia Mönchengladbach is a potential new employer for Linus Gechter. There is confirmed interest from the Bundesliga in the defender, and it is reported that discussions are already taking place in the background. Gechter's contract with Hertha BSC is valid until 2028 and includes a 'moderate release clause'.

According to a report from 'Bild', Borussia Mönchengladbach is targeting Hertha BSC's 21-year-old German centre-back Linus Gechter for a summer transfer. The report also suggests the club is interested in his teammate Tjark Ernst. The German publication claims that VfL would need to pay more than ten million euros for both players. It is uncertain if Gechter wants to leave Hertha. He is under contract until 2027 and dreams of promotion with the club. However, it is believed that he would be difficult to retain if Hertha is not promoted this season. Gechter is also attracting interest from Serie A, with Como having been recently linked. The defender has been capped three times for the Germany U21 team and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50m.
