Southampton's 29-year-old Nigerian international midfielder Joe Aribo, who spent four years at The Valley before joining Rangers in 2018, has been linked with a return to Charlton Athletic. However, Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has ruled out a move for the player. Jones, who worked with Aribo at Southampton and also knew him from his time as Charlton's U21 boss, stated that while he respects the player, Aribo belongs to Southampton and it is not a position the club is looking to strengthen. Aribo left Rangers to join Southampton for £6 million in 2022. Aribo's contract with Southampton runs until 2026 and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €4.00m; he has made 7 league appearances so far this season.
