Brazilian club Palmeiras have initiated discussions with Rangers regarding a possible transfer of Jefte. Andre Hernan, recognized as a Brazilian transfer expert, reported that negotiations are in progress to bring the 21-year-old back to Brazil. The leadership at Palmeiras is eager to acquire Jefte, who was brought to Rangers from Fluminense by Phillippe Clement last summer, following an impressive loan period in Cyprus with APOEL. The transfer fee could reach up to €6 million, considering Jefte's contract at Ibrox runs until June 2028. This season, Jefte has participated in three of Rangers' competitive matches, including consecutive starts against Dundee in the Premiership and Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League. In the previous season, he featured in 55 matches across all competitions for Rangers, scoring once. Despite his recent contributions, Rangers' manager Russell Martin has encouraged him to further enhance his performance, emphasizing his potential and the necessity for growth to secure his position in the team.
