Jefferson Lerma Transfer from Crystal Palace to Beşiktaş
Fanatik reports that Beşiktaş has renewed its efforts to sign Jefferson Lerma in the winter transfer window after failing to acquire him in the summer. The club had submitted an official offer to Crystal Palace for Lerma during the final days of the summer transfer window but received a negative response from the English club. This time, conditions are said to be different, and Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı is expected to travel to England in January to meet with the Crystal Palace management to finalize the transfer. Lerma is reported to be open to playing for Beşiktaş and considers Sergen Yalçın's playing style suitable for him. The Beşiktaş management aims to complete the transfer in January to strengthen their midfield balance and defensive resilience.
According to information from FT, Beşiktaş has opened negotiations for Crystal Palace's Jefferson Lerma, with a potential transfer materializing on the final day of the Turkish transfer window. The 30-year-old Colombian has a contract in London that runs until 2026. After being a key figure under Oliver Glasner last season, Lerma has been utilized mostly as a substitute during the current campaign. The defensive midfielder was signed by Palace on a free transfer two years ago, which was seven years after his move to AFC Bournemouth for a fee exceeding 30 million euros. Following 164 appearances in the Premier League, Turkey could be his next stop. The player's current market value is listed at €10 million by Transfermarkt.
