Mauro Icardi, a 33-year-old Argentine-Italian centre-forward, has been without a team since his contract with Galatasaray ended on June 30. His departure was influenced by economic factors, as he rejected a renewal offer for around five million dollars annually, an amount that was half of his previous salary. While Icardi trains individually in Argentina, his situation has been monitored by several European clubs, including Tottenham, PAOK Salonika, Elche, Everton, Real Betis, Benfica, and Besiktas. Interest has also come from South America, where Atletico Mineiro and San Paolo have reportedly made inquiries. During the summer, Lazio was said to have proposed a two-year contract worth a total of three million dollars, but a deal was not completed. Fiorentina and Udinese also evaluated him without reaching an agreement. No concrete proposal has yet been made, despite the widespread interest. The striker has 8 caps and 1 goal for Argentina, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €3.00m.
