Brighton has announced the signing of Jaouen Hadjam from Swiss Super League champions Young Boys. Hadjam, a left-back born in 2003, has signed a contract until June 2031, with the agreement being subject to the completion of regulatory procedures.

According to 4-4-2.com, Algerian left-back Jaouen Hadjam has joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, signing a multi-year contract. The reported transfer fee is 13 million euros. Hadjam had moved to Young Boys from FC Nantes in early 2024 for 1.4 million euros. He is the first Young Boys player in 14 years to transfer directly to the Premier League. During his time with Young Boys, Hadjam played 98 matches, scored six goals, and provided seven assists.

Jaouen Hadjam underwent his medical with the English club yesterday. According to journalist Loïc Tanzi, the player is now expected to officially sign with Brighton in the coming hours on a five-season contract. Young Boys are expected to receive a fixed fee of €11 million, with an additional €2 million in potential bonuses tied to the player’s performances and agreement conditions, so the total amount of the deal could therefore reach €13 million.

Young Boys and Brighton & Hove Albion have reached a basic agreement for the transfer of 23-year-old Algerian left-back Jaouen Hadjam. While the transfer fee is not yet known, the final details of the deal are reportedly being settled. Hadjam, who is under contract with the Bern-based club until 2028, has been considered a transfer candidate for some time. A potential move at the beginning of the year was halted by an injury sustained at the Africa Cup. FC Porto was also recently reported to have shown interest in the player. The Algerian international, who has 21 caps and 3 goals for his country, joined the Swiss club from FC Nantes in January 2024 for a reported fee of €1.3 million. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €7 million. In addition to Porto, Hull City has also been recently linked with the player.
