It is understood that Brighton are among several Premier League clubs that have been watching Strasbourg attacker Gessime Yassine closely this season. Newcastle United, Sunderland, Brentford, Everton and Nottingham Forest are also monitoring the 20-year-old Moroccan international, who is considered one of France's most promising attacking prospects. While the prospect of signing Yassine is appealing to clubs like Brighton, which has a reputation for identifying emerging talent, Chelsea are in a strong position to influence his future. Due to the relationship between the two clubs through the BlueCo ownership group, Chelsea have a long-term plan to bring the player to west London, and Yassine is comfortable with the prospect of an eventual move there. Yassine, who has 9 caps for Morocco, joined Strasbourg in January 2026 from Dunkerque for a fee reported to be €7 million and has a contract until 2030. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €20 million.
