Aberdeen are still waiting to see if they can proceed with their interest in Jadel Katongo. The full-back is on a list of targets that the Dons’ recruitment team has presented to Stephen Robinson. Aberdeen have since contacted Kayserispor to inquire about the financial aspects of a potential deal. There had been some reports from Turkey over the weekend that Katongo had terminated his contract with Kayserispor. Aberdeen officials do not believe this is the case and think the 21-year-old is still contracted to the Turkish Second Division side. According to Record Sport, completing a deal could be complex. The defender has not played as regularly as he would have hoped since he left Manchester City at the start of the year. Aberdeen would also not be able to match the former England under-20's current wage. It is yet to be determined if a loan would be an option or if he could agree a termination.

Kayserispor centre back Jadel Katongo, who joined the Turkish club from Manchester City in January, is a potential transfer target for Aberdeen. However, according to Record Sport, while the 21-year-old England U20 international is known to the Reds, the finances involved are expected to make reaching an agreement with Kayserispor very difficult. Before his move to Turkey, Katongo had spent time on loan at Peterborough United. He made 10 top-tier appearances in Turkey last season. The defender, who has four caps for England U20, has a contract with Kayserispor until June 2028 and a current Transfermarkt market value of €500k.
