Cardiff City are one of three Championship clubs to have made initial contact to explore a deal for Elfsborg defender Ibrahim Buhari. Portsmouth and Lincoln City have also made an initial approach for the 24-year-old Nigerian centre-back, and Turkish club Kasimpasa has also inquired about his availability. Buhari is in the final six months of his contract with Elfsborg, and with just one league start so far this season, it is suggested that all indications point to him leaving the club. The summer transfer window is Elfsborg's last opportunity to receive a fee for the player, though their asking price is not known. Buhari, who joined the club in September 2022, has one cap for the Nigeria U23 national team and a market value of €1.50m, according to Transfermarkt.
