Hearts' 24-year-old Scottish goalkeeper Harry Stone, a Tynecastle youth product, has rejoined Ayr United for a second loan spell. He is new manager Gary Naysmith's third signing. Stone returns to the club where he previously had a period under former manager Scott Brown, during which he failed to secure the number one spot. Despite this, he recorded eight clean sheets in 13 games during the 24/25 season before losing his place after errors in a match against Falkirk. He also spent part of last season on loan at Airdrie. Speaking to the Ayrshire Post, Stone said the decision to return was easy, explaining that he was convinced by what Gary Naysmith had to say about the club's culture and ambitions. He feels he is returning as a different, more experienced goalkeeper. Stone has yet to be capped for Scotland at U21 level. He made 16 appearances in the Scottish Championship during the 2025/2026 season. His contract with parent club Hearts is set to expire in May 2026 and he has a current Transfermarkt market value of €50k.
