River Plate is interested in bringing Guido Rodríguez back to the country during the January transfer window. The Argentine club wants a player for the number 5 position to strengthen its squad and has targeted the Valencia player, an Argentinian international who also holds an Italian passport. No concrete offer has yet reached Valencia. It is reported that the Argentine club is gathering information before making a proposal. The 32-year-old player is currently under a two-season contract with Valencia, which includes an option for a third year and is one of the highest in the squad. It is reported that he is happy at Valencia. He is a key player for manager Vasco Aguirre, having started all eight matches for which he was available, but a return to his home country could appeal to him. Rodríguez is a River Plate academy graduate who played for the first team before moving to Mexico in 2016, later playing for Betis and West Ham before joining Valencia last January on an initial six-month deal. He has 30 caps and 1 goal for Argentina and a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50M.
