According to TYC, River Plate has Yassine Bounou on their list of potential replacements for Santiago Beltrán. Bounou is a confessed River Plate fan and has previously expressed a desire to play for the club. This could be a favorable factor in a potential move. He is currently under contract with Al-Hilal until July 2028. It is mentioned that River could accelerate their efforts to sign him before Beltrán's departure, allowing him to compete for the starting position.

River Plate has contacted Yassine Bounou in anticipation of a potential departure of their goalkeeper, Santiago Beltrán. According to Africafoot, River Plate considers the Al Hilal goalkeeper one of its primary options to reinforce the position. The same sources report that communication was established with Bounou to understand his position and evaluate the possibility of a transfer. Bounou reportedly responded favorably to the prospect. The sources also indicate that Bounou suggested River Plate's management contact Al Hilal directly, where he has a contract until the summer of 2028. Africafoot's sources also state that the initial contact has been made, and the process may now be dependent on Al Hilal's willingness and the terms of a potential transfer.

River Plate is monitoring Al Hilal's 34-year-old Moroccan goalkeeper, Yassine Bounou, for a possible recruitment after the 2026 World Cup. The Buenos Aires club is reportedly looking to reinforce a key position and believes Bounou can provide leadership. Al Hilal does not want to sell him, and his €15,000,000 annual salary is considered a significant obstacle.
