Giuliano Galoppo Transfer from São Paulo to River Plate

TYC reports on River Plate's acquisition of Giuliano Galoppo from Sao Paulo. River Plate activated the purchase option for Giuliano Galoppo from Sao Paulo after eight months on loan. Although the purchase price was $3.6 million, River will pay only $1.5 million, offsetting the debt that Sao Paulo had for Enzo Díaz and Tapia. River acquires 60% of Galoppo's rights. Galoppo had played 23 matches and scored five goals during his loan.

Galoppo was loaned from São Paulo to River Plate for one season. The contract includes a clause for a mandatory purchase if Galoppo plays in at least 50% of River Plate's matches in the season. Only 4 games remain for Galoppo to reach the target. River Plate would pay $3.6 million for 60% of Galoppo's economic rights. São Paulo would retain 40%. São Paulo intends to deduct Enzo Díaz's purchase value from the amount River Plate will owe if Galoppo's clause is activated.

Galoppo is currently on loan at River Plate from Sao Paulo, with the arrangement set to last until December. River Plate plans to acquire a portion of his rights as outlined in the initial agreement. According to the clause, if Galoppo participates in half of the year's matches, River Plate is obligated to pay $3.2 million for 60% of his rights. Presently, he has played in 23 out of 40 matches, but only 18 of those appearances have been for more than 45 minutes, which is necessary for the clause to be activated. With 12 games remaining this year, Galoppo must play in at least eight more for the purchase to become mandatory. Regardless of this stipulation, River Plate and their coach, Marcelo Gallardo, reportedly appreciate his contributions and express a desire to retain him for 2026 and beyond. Should the purchase take place, Galoppo is expected to sign a three-year contract extending until 2028.

São Paulo is on track to earn a substantial profit from the loan of midfielder Giuliano Galoppo to River Plate. The arrangement between São Paulo and the Argentine club includes a purchase clause covering 60% of Galoppo's economic rights, which will be automatically activated if he participates in at least 50% of the matches for a minimum of 45 minutes each. Currently, Galoppo has appeared in 21 matches and needs to participate in just four more to trigger this clause. River Plate has competed in 37 matches to date. Galoppo has started in 13 of these 21 appearances and has scored five goals. The purchase price is set at $4 million USD, or approximately R$ 21.6 million.

River Plate needs to decide whether to purchase the transfer rights of Giuliano Galoppo, who is currently on a 12-month loan.

Giuliano Galoppo was close to signing with Boca, but in a matter of hours, he became a River player.

River Plate has officially announced the acquisition of Giuliano Galoppo as a new player. He is joining the club on loan from São Paulo, with the agreement set to last until December 31, 2025. The contract stipulates a purchase option, which will become obligatory if specific performance targets are achieved. Galoppo's contract with São Paulo is valid until the end of June 2027. He initially joined São Paulo in 2022 but found it challenging to secure a regular starting spot. In March 2023, he suffered a ligament injury in his knee, underwent surgery, and returned to playing the following year. He had an arthroscopy at the end of 2024, causing him to miss the rest of the season. Throughout his tenure at São Paulo, he played in 60 matches, scored 10 goals, and provided 4 assists. He is one of the reinforcements for River Plate in 2025, following the acquisition of players such as former Corinthians player Matías Rojas.

River Plate is preparing to bring Giuliano Galoppo from São Paulo on a one-season loan. São Paulo's only requirement is for River Plate to cover Galoppo's salary and image rights. There is also a possibility that Enzo Díaz from River Plate could be included in the deal.

Giuliano Galoppo is set to leave São Paulo in 2025. He is currently in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to undergo medical examinations at River Plate. ESPN reported the interest and progress of River Plate, known as 'Millonarios', in acquiring Galoppo. The agreement is expected to be a one-year loan. São Paulo's only requirement is for the Argentine club to cover Galoppo's salary and image rights.

Giuliano Galoppo has emerged as a transfer target for River Plate for the year 2025. Although São Paulo has yet to receive a formal offer, it has been indicated that any negotiation would require River Plate to cover Galoppo's salary and image rights. Additionally, there is potential for the inclusion of left-back Enzo Díaz in the transaction. Galoppo, who has had limited playing opportunities under coach Luis Zubeldía at São Paulo, is also garnering interest from Santos, despite a previous transfer attempt to the club having failed. Should a transfer occur, the acquiring club would have an option to purchase Galoppo for 3.2 million dollars, which is nearly 20 million reais. Although Galoppo has recovered from a knee injury earlier this year, he has not managed to secure a regular place in the team, prompting São Paulo to consider allowing his departure. The potential inclusion of Enzo Díaz in the deal is seen as a solution to São Paulo's need for a left-back for the 2025 season.
