Vasco announced in a press statement that it is in discussions with Galatasaray of Turkey concerning the future of Colombian defender Carlos Cuesta, 27. Cuesta is on loan at the club until the end of the year. The talks are focused on the player's physical and contractual situation, as Cuesta has been experiencing pain in his left hip for over a month due to an impact syndrome. His loan includes a purchase option of 5.75 million euros, which Vasco is not expected to exercise. Cuesta has made 16 appearances in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A this season and has been capped 24 times by Colombia. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €8.0M.
