Italian Serie A club Genoa expressed interest in Gabriel Vidovic, along with other clubs such as 1. FC Heidenheim from Germany, Cagliari from Italy, and Belgian club RSC Anderlecht. Nevertheless, Vidovic ultimately opted to join Dinamo Zagreb, a decision reportedly influenced by Zvonimir Boban, the club's chairman and a former world-class footballer. Boban assured Vidovic of a significant role in the team, particularly following the departure of Martin Baturina to Serie A club Como. Vidovic, who had a successful loan period with Dinamo Zagreb during the 2023/24 season, is set to wear the iconic number 10 jersey, once donned by Luka Modric. The transfer deal, valued at approximately two million euros, also includes a sell-on clause benefiting Bayern Munich, Vidovic's previous club.
