Francesco Gelli, a 30-year-old Italian central midfield player and an important player in Frosinone's promotion last season who is now not a regular part of the first team, is being considered by Spezia for a potential January move. Cittadellaspezia.com reports that Gelli's name has been associated with Spezia, where Guido Angelozzi, who discovered the player in 2023 and brought him to Frosinone, is now part of the management and could be a decisive factor in his choice. Angelozzi may attempt to strengthen Spezia's midfield, especially if there are no positive updates regarding Florenzi and Limonelli. During the summer, Gelli rejected several offers from lower divisions to stay in Serie A, but his situation could now change. It is noted that convincing him to join a Serie C project would require significant and concrete arguments, as it would mean dropping two divisions. In an interview with Secolo XIX, Spezia's sporting director Angelozzi was non-committal about the January market, stating that it was not sensible to discuss it at that time and that they would re-evaluate after December. Gelli's current market value is €500.0K, according to Transfermarkt.
