According to Alan Nixon’s Patreon, Burnley are interested in former Sunderland left-back Dennis Cirkin this summer. The Irish-born Latvian left Wearside this summer following the expiry of his contract. Newly-promoted German Bundesliga side Schalke are also reportedly interested in the free agent.

Strengthening the defence is a priority for Burnley, and the club is monitoring Dennis Cirkin, a 24-year-old Latvian left-back. Burnley is also aware of interest in the player from the Bundesliga. Cirkin is currently a free agent and his market value is €6.00m, according to Transfermarkt. Several Championship clubs, including Middlesbrough and Stoke City, have also been linked with the player.
