The 32-year-old defender, who has struggled with injuries in recent times, is well known to returning Blackburn head coach Tony Mowbray. Lenihan, a former Republic of Ireland international, initially joined Blackburn as a youth player in 2011 and made 252 appearances for the club before moving to Middlesbrough in 2022, where he played 52 times.
