Danilo Transfer from Rangers to NEC
Danilo has become a new target for NEC Nijmegen late in the winter market, with multiple sources in the Netherlands now covering the Eredivisie side’s interest. Voetbal International states NEC Nijmegen are looking at Danilo to strengthen their attack for the second half of the season. According to Voetbal International, Rangers are willing to let Danilo leave in this window. De Gelderlander reports that if NEC Nijmegen were to reach an agreement with Rangers, it will be for a loan deal, and the report does not mention a purchase option or obligation.
De Gelderlander reports that NEC Nijmegen is considering Danilo as a potential reinforcement for their attack. While NEC is targeting a loan move for Danilo, their goal is to sign him permanently. The player has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €6.8 million, a figure that would represent a record signing for the club. Rangers hold a strong negotiating position with the Eredivisie side. NEC requires reinforcements as Koki Ogawa is currently their only fit centre-forward, while Youssef El Kachati is unavailable due to a long-term injury.
NEC is targeting Danilo as the successor to Kentho Shiogai, who moved to VfL Wolfsburg this winter. The club is attempting to loan the former Ajax and Feyenoord striker from Rangers, where he has not managed to secure a regular starting spot. Rangers paid over six million euros for Danilo, and he has a contract with the Scottish club until mid-2028. The 26-year-old Brazilian has made 14 appearances in the Scottish Premiership this season, scoring 3 goals. He joined Rangers in July 2023 and has one cap for the Brazil U23 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.00m.
