Discussions are ongoing between 28-year-old English Centre-Back Dael Fry and Middlesbrough regarding a new contract, as the player is set to become a free agent later this month. The Middlesbrough hierarchy is understood to have made an offer, but it remains unsigned after a round of talks towards the end of last month did not result in an agreement. If these negotiations fail, it is reported that a number of other Championship clubs are waiting to express their interest. Blackburn Rovers are understood to be one of the clubs that would be interested in talking to Fry and his representatives in that scenario, following Tony Mowbray's return to Ewood Park. Despite this, a failure in the negotiations with Middlesbrough is still considered unlikely, as both parties are said to be confident of reaching an agreement.
