Rangers are interested in securing a loan deal for Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth. Previously, Rushworth was the first-choice keeper under Russell Martin at Swansea. During the 2023/24 season, he had a breakthrough year at Swansea with Martin and spent the first half of last season on loan at Hull. Brighton has already declined a loan offer from a Championship club for Rushworth, who is reportedly eager to take control of his own career and choose his next club. A potential reunion with Martin at Ibrox could be appealing to him, but it remains uncertain whether Rangers can guarantee him first-team football. Jack Butland's struggles with form last season might lead Martin to consider Rushworth as an upgrade, possibly resulting in the departure of one of the current goalkeepers this summer. Although Rushworth has not made any appearances for Brighton, he has accumulated nearly 150 appearances in the English lower leagues during his time with Hull, Swansea, Walsall, and Lincoln City.
