Beşiktaş and Pisa approached NEC this winter for Başar Önal, a 21-year-old Turkish-Dutch attacker who rejected offers from both clubs. Önal is said to be enjoying his time at NEC and therefore declined the proposals. This was not the first time Beşiktaş had shown interest in the player. Two years ago, when Önal was with De Graafschap, Beşiktaş and Galatasaray were reportedly also interested, but a transfer did not materialize on that occasion either. The amount the clubs were willing to pay is unknown, and his contract in De Goffert runs until mid-2028. The Türkiye U21 international joined NEC in July 2024 and has scored 3 goals and provided 7 assists in 14 Eredivisie appearances this season. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.50m.
