Norwich are making a strong effort to sign French defensive midfielder Balthazar Pierret, 26. It is reported that manager Philippe Clement is personally involved in an attempt to convince Red Star to approve a deal. Tavolieri described the midfielder as being a true impact player. Red Star, who signed Pierret permanently from Serie A club Lecce earlier this year, are believed to want a fee of more than £400,000 for his sale. Middlesbrough have also been linked with the player. It was reportedly the case that Middlesbrough had a €300,000 offer rejected in July 2026, at which time Red Star was said to be hoping for a fee of approximately €500,000. It has been reported that Lecce retained a 50% sell-on clause from the January 2026 transfer. Transfermarkt estimates Pierret's current market value at €1.50m.
