According to BBC Humberside Sport reporter Mike White on X, Axel Tuanzebe is not necessarily a primary target for Hull City this summer. White has confirmed that Tuanzebe is a player of interest to the Tigers, but the East Yorkshire outfit have not made signing him a priority at this stage and are likely to have other targets on their agenda. Tuanzebe is a free agent following the end of his deal at Burnley.

According to Mike McGrath, newly-promoted Hull City are in discussions over a potential deal for Axel Tuanzebe, whose contract with Burnley expired at the start of the month. The 28-year-old DR Congo defender, who also holds English nationality and is a former Manchester United player, is currently at the FIFA World Cup. It is reported that Hull are eager to finalize an agreement before other clubs become involved, and that the potential transfer is similar to a previous move where Tuanzebe joined a promoted Burnley from a relegated Ipswich Town in July 2025. The defender has 17 caps and one goal for DR Congo. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €5.00m.
