However, club watcher Rik Elfrink questioned whether the player would be affordable. Rodríguez, who was part of the Real Madrid youth academy, is understood to be subject to a buy-back option held by the Madrid club that is reportedly worth tens of millions. The Uruguayan-Spanish forward joined Elche in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2029. He has scored 4 goals in 4 LaLiga appearances in the 2025/2026 season. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €4.00m. Rodríguez has also made 8 appearances for the Uruguay U20 team, scoring 5 goals.
