Alexis Cuello Transfer from San Lorenzo to Independiente
Independiente is interested in San Lorenzo forward Alexis Cuello. The club's head of Communication, Pablo Grindetti, stated that Cuello is a player requested by manager Gustavo Quinteros. Grindetti also mentioned that work is being done, but there is no formal offer yet. The forward is being monitored by Quinteros, who identified him as an option to strengthen the team's attack. While the interest in Cuello is concrete, there are no formal negotiations for now, and any progress will depend on market developments.
According to reports from TYC, Independiente is in discussions to sign 25-year-old Argentinian forward Alexis Cuello, whose situation at San Lorenzo is complicated by a financial dispute. The management of Independiente has initiated talks with the player's representative. It is reported that Cuello is very upset with San Lorenzo regarding an outstanding debt of 75 thousand dollars from his arrival in January 2024. This prompted him to send a formal demand weeks ago, threatening to leave if the payment was not made within the established period. His claim specified that he did not receive bonuses, a percentage for the loan, or his payment from the definitive purchase from Almagro. Almagro is also pressuring for the money to be deposited or for Cuello to be sold. Although Cuello's contract is valid until December 2026, his continuation at the club is not guaranteed. During the previous transfer window, Racing was also reportedly interested in signing the player. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €1.80m.
