Hearts confirmed that German keeper Alexander Schwolow, 34, is returning to his home country to join Bundesliga club Mainz. This confirmation was made on the same day the club announced the signing of a new goalkeeper. Schwolow will remain with the capital club until August 1, which will make him available for the Champions League second round qualifier against Sturm Graz. Schwolow joined Hearts in August 2025 and has been capped 7 times for Germany's U20 team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €450k.
