Fiorentina acquired 21-year-old Spanish right-back Álex Jiménez from Bournemouth on a paid loan that includes an option to buy. The club spent a combined 3.5 million euros on the loan fees for both Jiménez and João Mário, who arrived from Juventus under a similar arrangement. This expenditure was made after Fabio Paratici chose to focus on the two new players for the right flank instead of re-signing former player Costantino Favasuli for the same amount.
