Spanish international Alejandro Grimaldo, 30, has reached an agreement with Beşiktaş after the club's German sporting director, Eduard Graf, convinced the left-sided player in a personal conversation. The transfer is not yet finalized because an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen is still needed. A potential fee of less than twelve million euros was recently reported by Spanish media, but Bayer is demanding at least 20 million euros for the set-piece specialist, whose contract with the Bundesliga club runs until 2027. Grimaldo previously expressed a desire to play in La Liga and had been strongly linked with FC Barcelona. He has also been linked with other clubs, including Juventus and Atlético Madrid. Grimaldo, who has 12 caps for Spain, joined Leverkusen on a free transfer in July 2023. His current market value is €24.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
