Striker Ajay Matthews has joined Leyton Orient on loan from Millwall until the end of the season. Matthews said he is excited to be there and eager to get going. He mentioned that a meeting with the manager and Dan McLoone the previous day was very positive. Matthews added that the manager showed him a style of play and how he would fit into it, which he thinks suits him. The player also said he knows Aaron Connolly quite well as they lived in the same apartment block at Millwall, and that Connolly has said many positive things about the club. Orient Head Coach Richie Wellens stated it is great to have Ajay join, adding that Dan McLoone knows him well and that they were close to signing him at the end of the summer transfer window. Wellens also said Matthews has many attributes that will challenge opposition defenders, both in and out of possession.
