According to Norwegian outlet TV 2, Celtic have made contact to begin discussions about a potential transfer for Sandefjord central defender Zinedin Smajlović. The report also states that a fee of approximately £3m or more would be required to persuade Sandefjord to sell the 22-year-old, who is under contract with the Eliteserien side until the summer of 2028.

Smajlović is considered one of the best defensive players in the Norwegian Eliteserien and has become an important player at Sandefjord. The club expects significant transfer-related activity concerning Smajlović in the coming transfer period and anticipates a bid in the near future. According to Transfermarkt, Smajlović has a market value of three million euros and is under contract until December 31, 2028.

The Daily Record reports that Sandefjord's Zinedin Smajlovic is a target for Celtic. It is claimed that defender Maik Nawrocki, who is not currently favoured and has spent the season on loan at German second-tier club Hanover, could be used as part of a deal to bring Zinedin Smajlovic to Glasgow's East End.
