According to the Belgian outlet Sporza, PSG, Manchester City, and Borussia Dortmund were also among those observing the game. El Ouahdi, who has one cap for Morocco, has scored 4 goals and provided 2 assists in 20 appearances in the 2025/2026 Jupiler Pro League season. He joined Genk in September 2023 for a reported fee of €2.5 million and is under contract until 2028. Transfermarkt lists his current market value at €15.00m, and in February 2026, Genk's asking price was reportedly between €10 million and €20 million.
