Estudiantes wants to bring Zaid Romero, a 26-year-old Argentinian-Syrian defender, back on loan from Club Brugge. Since arriving at Club Brugge in July 2024 for a fee of approximately 5.5 to 6 million euros, Romero has had limited playing time, making only one league appearance this season. A loan is being considered as a solution that would permit Romero to play in a familiar environment. It could also potentially help Club Brugge reduce the financial loss on a player whose market value has decreased. Estudiantes has renewed its interest in a loan for Romero with plans for 2026.
