According to TYC, although Estudiantes de La Plata was recently interested in Matías Catalán and he did not want to renew his contract with Talleres which expires in December, he is returning to the professional squad because he understands that the club needs him.

Estudiantes has advanced negotiations to sign 34-year-old central defender Matías Catalán from Talleres. The player is currently not being considered by Talleres and is training separately from the squad. There is a full agreement with Catalán, and only the conditions for his exit from Talleres remain to be defined.
