According to Voetbalprimeur.nl, Bologna was previously interested in Ajax defender Youri Baas. The defender was intended to replace Jhon Lucumi, who transferred to Juventus. With the arrival of Theate, it appears Bologna has filled its defensive needs.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bologna is targeting Youri Baas. Míchel stated that he wants Youri Baas to stay at Ajax and described him as an important player and one of the captains.

Youri Baas, a 23-year-old Dutch defender, is on a list of candidates at Bologna. The club is looking for a new left-footed defender to replace Jhon Lucumí after his €20 million transfer to Juventus. Bologna may propose a loan with an option to buy, but the chance of Ajax agreeing to such a deal is considered small. Voetbal International reported several days ago that Ajax would be willing to cooperate with a departure if an interesting offer is made. Baas is also reportedly attracting interest from Germany, and several sources have mentioned Eintracht Frankfurt as a potential suitor. Baas, who has yet to be capped by the Netherlands, joined Ajax in January 2023 and has a contract that runs until June 2028. His current Transfermarkt market value is €20.00m. Reports from May 2026 suggested Ajax could seek a fee of more than €20 million for the player.
