FC Volendam signed eighteen-year-old midfielder Younes Jaber el Meftahi on loan from Sparta Rotterdam on the final day of the transfer window. The agreement between the two clubs does not include an option to buy. El Meftahi, who has been in Sparta's youth academy since 2016, signed his first contract in 2024 and extended it in January of this year until mid-2030. He made his official debut for Sparta in December 2025 and is now set to gain playing time in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. Speaking to the club channels, technical director Patrick Busby described El Meftahi as a creative midfielder who can decisively influence a match with his passing and ability to find an unmarked player. Busby added that El Meftahi was the club's final desired signing of the window. El Meftahi expressed his happiness about joining Volendam, describing the move as a great next step in his career and stating his eagerness to show his qualities to the fans.
