West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a transfer for midfielder Will Smallbone, who is regarded as a replacement for the departing Alex Mowatt. The 26-year-old is a free agent and has had recent injury issues, but a potential signing is considered risk-free because of his experience at Championship level. Smallbone has previously played in the Premier League for the Saints and is considered to be a high-quality player who would want to demonstrate his abilities regularly in the second tier. The Republic of Ireland international has 15 caps for his country. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €3.50m. Several other clubs, including Millwall, Leicester City, and Stoke City, have also been linked with him.
