Gremio is not rushing to let Viery leave. Efforts to arrange a deal for less than the release clause have been unsuccessful, as Viery's current price is regarded as too high.

Tuttomercato reports that Nottingham Forest is interested in Viery. The player has a 50 million euro release clause in his contract with Gremio, which is valid until December 2029. Gremio has changed its asking price to a base of approximately 20 million euros, with the total potentially rising to 25 million euros through objectives or bonuses. The club has a need to monetize due to a debt of more than 20 million euros accumulated in the last quarter.

Nottingham Forest is among the Premier League clubs interested in Gremio's 21-year-old Brazilian center-back, Viery. Italian club Bologna is also tracking the player, viewing him as a potential replacement for Jhon Lucumí. The Serie A club is currently investigating the feasibility of a deal for Viery, who is contracted to Gremio until the end of 2029. The defender joined Gremio in February 2025. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €3.00m.
