Inter is on the verge of completing the transfer of 22-year-old Argentine defender Tomas Palacios to Santos in Brazil. Palacios, who had returned from a loan spell at Monza, was not part of Cristian Chivu's future plans, as the Inter manager has been looking for new defensive players. It has been reported that an agreement in principle has been reached for Palacios' move to Brazil. After being acquired by Inter from Independiente Rivadavia a year ago and spending the last January on loan at Monza, Palacios returned to Appiano Gentile but did not impress Chivu, prompting the decision to transfer him. This transfer aims to resolve one of the outstanding issues in Inter's current squad's outgoing market.
