Head of Football, Rudy Gestede, stated publicly in September that the family of Norwegian central midfielder Sondre Tronstad wants to return to Norway. It is understood that there has been no change in that position and he is still likely to leave on a free transfer. There are no plans for his departure in the January transfer window. No club has been arranged for Tronstad ahead of the summer. The 30-year-old will complete the final months of his contract with Rovers before assessing his options. Tronstad joined the club in July 2023, has made 20 appearances in the Championship this season and has one cap for Norway. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.30m.
