Seny Dieng Transfer from Middlesbrough to Feyenoord
Seny Dieng might leave Middlesbrough before the Monday night deadline following late interest from Feyenoord. The Dutch club has contacted Boro, and Boro now wants to transfer Dieng before the 7pm deadline on Monday. Feyenoord indicated their interest on Sunday. According to reports in the Netherlands, Feyenoord's first-choice goalkeeper, Timon Wellenreuther, has been in unconvincing form in recent weeks, leading to the interest in Dieng as the club wants another senior goalkeeper to challenge the primary one. Dieng has played 52 times for Boro since joining from QPR in 2023, but his last appearance came in December, 2024. He was replaced in the team by Sol Brynn and then suffered a serious Achilles injury a year ago, which prevented him from leaving last January or in the summer. Transferring the keeper would be a significant benefit to Boro, as he still has 18 months remaining on his contract and took up a place in the 25-man EFL squad in the first half of the season.
Eredivisie side Feyenoord have made a move for Seny Dieng. It was first reported in the Netherlands that Feyenoord have made a late approach. Middlesbrough hope the 31-year-old accepts the offer, as they are keen to remove him from their wage bill this month.
Feyenoord will soon make an offer for Middlesbrough goalkeeper Seny Dieng as the club seeks a second keeper following the departure of Justin Bijlow. The Senegal international is contracted at Middlesbrough until mid-2027 but is no longer the first choice at his club. Local media in Middlesbrough also linked Dieng with clubs in Turkey and a transfer to Hull City that was close but ultimately collapsed.
