Burnley are interested in signing Anel Ahmedhodzic, a 27-year-old former Sheffield United centre-back and Bosnia-Herzegovina international. Southampton are also interested in signing the player. Sheffield United, who sold Ahmedhodzic to Feyenoord last summer, have not made a move, and their inactivity has placed them behind other clubs in the pursuit. He is available for around £4 million as his current club, Feyenoord, are seeking to sell him due to financial reasons. The defender, who has 24 caps for his country, is under contract until 2029. Feyenoord signed Ahmedhodzic from Sheffield United in August 2025 for a fee of €6.9 million, after he had moved to the English club from Malmö FF for €4.5 million in July 2022. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €10.00m.
