BlueCo, the ownership group of Chelsea, and City Group, who own Manchester City, have been monitoring Ajax midfielder Sean Steur for a considerable time. Eintracht Frankfurt held talks in January to attempt to secure a deal but realised his growing reputation might make him unaffordable for them this summer. Ajax are determined to keep Steur long-term, and some at the club believe he could be their best midfield prospect since Frenkie De Jong. The Dutch club has a strong negotiating position because Steur is contracted until 2028. Steur has 6 caps and 2 goals for Netherlands U18, and according to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €700k. This season, he has made 10 Eredivisie appearances, as well as 11 appearances, one goal, and one assist in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie.
