Scott McTominay Transfer from Napoli to Tottenham Hotspur

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Manchester United have made inquiries with Scott McTominay's representatives. Sources close to the 28-year-old insist that only a proposition he considers perfect would persuade him to leave Napoli. The club's hierarchy firmly rejected approaches in January, with one club insider describing the fee required to persuade him to leave as astronomical. With manager Conte viewing the Scot as the key player in his 3-5-2 system, any bid below €80m (£70.5m) would be rejected. McTominay is not commenting directly, focusing on Napoli’s Champions League ambitions, and stated in a recent interview that he is happy. Spurs are planning an ambitious attempt to sign McTominay, having been impressed by his development in Italy.

According to reports, Tottenham view Scott McTominay as the ideal player to add more energy and drive to their midfield. While a January transfer is considered unlikely, a summer move remains a possibility. McTominay is said to be open to new opportunities if the right project arises.

According to TEAMtalk’s Fraser Fletcher, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are both interested in Scott McTominay, a 28-year-old Scottish international. The midfielder is under contract at Napoli until 2028, and securing his transfer from the Italian club is considered difficult. A transfer in January appears difficult, and the situation would likely need to be assessed in the summer. A report in The Sun suggested that a return to Britain could be motivated by McTominay having difficulty with the attention in Naples, but that claim has reportedly been denied. It is also said that possibilities for a Premier League return exist. McTominay joined Napoli in August 2024. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €50.00m. He has scored two goals in eight Serie A appearances this season.
