Santiago Simón Transfer from River Plate to Toluca

Toluca, under the management of Antonio Mohamed, is reportedly interested in acquiring Santiago Simón from River Plate to bolster their squad for the upcoming Apertura 2025. This tournament is currently paused due to the Leagues Cup 2025. Toluca, who are the reigning Liga MX champions after their victory in the Clausura 2025 and the subsequent Champion of Champions match against América, plans to purchase only 50% of the player's rights as part of their strategy to assemble a competitive team for a potential league bicampeonato. Santiago Simón, a 23-year-old Argentine winger, made his debut in 2021 and has accumulated 8,394 minutes, six goals, and 16 assists. He has won the Argentine League twice, the Champion of Champions twice, and the Supercopa once with River Plate. The information regarding this transfer interest was reported by César Luis Merlo. Simón's contract with River Plate is set to expire on December 31, 2026, and his Transfermarkt valuation stands at €4.50m. Additionally, Elche, Rosario Central, Boca Juniors, and Girona have also been linked with the player.
