It has been suggested that Sheffield United could make a move for Wigan Athletic's 23-year-old English goalkeeper Sam Tickle, whose performances have resulted in him being regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in League One. In addition to interest from their second-tier rivals, Tickle has also previously drawn interest from top-flight clubs Arsenal and Manchester United. Tickle, who joined Wigan in July 2023, has made 24 appearances in the league this season. His current contract runs until 2028 and he has a market value of €1.20m according to Transfermarkt.
